The „Blue Danube“ Package
Thanks to Johann Strauss‘s waltz „On the Beautiful Blue Danube“, called the „Blue Danube waltz“, this river is
inextricably intertwined with Viennese music.
This package gives you the opportunity to experience the Danube first-hand during a river cruise, followed by a
delicious dinner. To round off a wonderful day, you will attend a concert of the Schoenbrunn Palace Orchestra Vienna,
which includes masterpieces by Johann Strauss.

The Danube River Cruise
During this river cruise, which lasts several hours, you will experience many Viennese sights from the water:
Donauturm (Danube Tower), Millennium Tower, Ringturm (Ring Tower), Spittelau district heating plant, Urania
observatory and much more.
The ship belonging to DDSG shipping company leaves Schwedenplatz (downtown Vienna) at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m.,
12:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m. and at 3:00 p.m. for a round trip, and returns to its place of departure at Schwedenplatz.
We recommend going on the cruise that departs at 2:00 p.m. and returns at 5:20 p.m. so that you won‘t have to rush
to dinner.

Dinner
Café-Restaurant Residenz is located in the former palace kitchen. This building located in the so-called Ehrenhof
(„Court of Honor“) is adjacent to the palace‘s main entrance. An elegant three-course candlelight dinner awaits you. In
summer, dinner will be served in the cozy outside dining area.

- "Tafelspitz": Viennese boiled beef with cream spinach and roasted potatoes
- handmade Applestrudel

Vegetarian dishes available upon request.

Concert
The concert takes place at the elaborately restored Schoenbrunn Palace Orangery, which is conveniently located and
easily accessible via subway U4 (Schoenbrunn station). Being an adjacent building of Schoenbrunn Palace, the
Orangery has been declared a UNESCO world heritage site.
While the Orangery was originally meant to store plants during the winter, today the largest part of the Orangery
serves as a venue for exclusive concerts and events. More than one million visitors have enjoyed the renowned
Schoenbrunn Palace Orchestra Vienna‘s performances and the top-notch singing and dancing that complement the
evening.

Concert hall
On selected days, concerts may take place in the Great Gallery or the White Gold Room located inside Schoenbrunn
Palace, at the Schoenbrunn Palace Theater or in other concert halls in Vienna. We will be happy to send you the
detailed concert plan upon request.

After the concert, taxis will be available right outside Schoenbrunn Palace Orangery. The subway runs until midnight in
five to eight-minute intervals. The package includes two tickets for public transportation.
